Agriculture first-year student was found dead in his rented room in Kota on Sunday, just hours after returning from his village where he had celebrated Raksha Bandhan.</span></p>
<p data-start="264" data-end="396"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The deceased, identified as Abhishek Meena, was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan in the Rangbari area, according to police.</span></p>
<p data-start="398" data-end="563"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Abhishek, a resident of Rampuriya Bhagatan village in Mangrol, Baran district, had been studying in Kota for the past five years and lived in rented accommodation.</span></p>
<p data-start="565" data-end="929"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">He had travelled home for Rakhi on Saturday and returned to Kota between 10 and 11 a.m. on Sunday. His cousin, Satish Meena, said Abhishek was expected to vacate his room soon. Around 3 p.m., the landlord went to check on him but found the door locked from the inside. After repeated knocks went unanswered, he peered through the window and saw Abhishek hanging.</span></p>
<p data-start="931" data-end="1132"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The landlord immediately alerted police and family members. Officers broke the window to enter, brought Abhishek down, and rushed him to New Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.</span></p>
<p data-start="1134" data-end="1339"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Satish recalled that Abhishek&rsquo;s father, a farmer, had urged him to focus on his studies during his visit home. Abhishek was the only son in the family. &ldquo;We don&rsquo;t know why he took this step,&rdquo; Satish said.</span></p>
<p data-start="1341" data-end="1586"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Mahavir Nagar police ASI Ravindra Singh confirmed that the incident occurred shortly after Abhishek&rsquo;s return to Kota. &ldquo;The exact reason for the suicide is yet to be determined. We will record statements of family members and friends,&rdquo; he said.</span></p>
<p data-start="1588" data-end="1661"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination.</span></p>
