World No. 1 Jannik Sinner powered into the Cincinnati Open semifinals with a commanding 6-0, 6-2 win over Felix Auger-Aliassime.
The 23rd seed struggled in the opening set, committing 13 unforced errors. Although Auger-Aliassime led 2-0 early in the second, eight double faults and baseline inconsistencies allowed Sinner to dominate.
With this win, Sinner has extended his hard-court winning streak to 25 matches, becoming only the fifth man this century to achieve the feat, joining Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray. His last loss on the surface came against Carlos Alcaraz in the Beijing final last October.
The Italian has since lifted titles at the ATP Finals and the Australian Open, and now holds a 30-3 season record. Playing his first event since his maiden Wimbledon crown, Sinner will face French qualifier Terence Atmane, who stunned Holger Rune after defeating Taylor Fritz, marking his first ATP Masters 1000 semifinal.
Atmane&rsquo;s run has already earned him USD 332,160 in prize money, more than his total earnings for the season before Cincinnati.
