Indian shuttlers HS Prannoy and Kidambi Srikanth will look to revive their form on home soil as the Syed Modi International 2025 begins Tuesday at the Babu Banarasi Das UP Badminton Academy.
The BWF Super 300 tournament, named after 1982 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Syed Modi, arrives at a crucial point for both seasoned players following difficult campaigns this year.
Prannoy, ranked 35th in the world, has endured a challenging season with early exits in eight of the 15 BWF World Tour events he has played, reaching only the second round at best. 
With Ayush Shetty&rsquo;s sudden withdrawal, Prannoy enters the draw as India&rsquo;s highest-ranked men&rsquo;s singles player. 
Defending champion Lakshya Sen, fresh from an Australian Open victory, is not participating this year.
Srikanth, ranked 42nd, comes into the tournament after three consecutive first-round defeats. 
However, the former world No. 1 may draw confidence from his strong history at the event, having won the title in 2015 and 2016.
Kiran George, Priyanshu Rajawat, and Tharun Mannepalli complete India&rsquo;s men&rsquo;s singles contingent, all aiming to make an impact in front of home fans.
In women&rsquo;s singles, the absence of two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu, who ended her season early, paves the way for the next generation. 
Young shuttlers Tanvi Sharma, Anmol Kharb, and Unnati Hooda will lead India&rsquo;s challenge, with Sindhu having lifted the title last year.
In doubles, Commonwealth Games bronze medallists Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, the top seeds and world No. 14 pair, will attempt to defend their women&rsquo;s doubles title. 
They will look to bounce back after a first-round exit at the Australian Open, their first tournament since July.
Sai Pratheek and Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy headline India&rsquo;s men&rsquo;s doubles campaign as second seeds, while Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde also enter the mixed doubles draw as second seeds.
