The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) is set to resume its 2025 season on August 3 in Ahmedabad, launching an action-packed second half marked by record prize money, expanded reach, and the addition of world-class venues.
With 15 events lined up in the latter half of the season, players will compete for a combined prize purse of ₹17 crore, bringing the total for the 2025 season to over ₹33 crore, an increase of more than ₹8 crore from the previous year.
The marquee event of the season, the DP World India Championship, will take place at Delhi Golf Club from October 16 to 19. Co-sanctioned with the DP World Tour, the tournament offers a historic prize pool of $4 million, making it the richest golf event ever hosted in India. The championship is expected to attract top international stars, including current Masters champion Rory McIlroy.
New venues like Clover Greens Resort &amp; Golf Club in Tamil Nadu and Zion Hills Golf County in Karnataka will host flagship tournaments in August, each with ₹1 crore in prize money. These additions reflect PGTI&rsquo;s push toward expanding its presence across India.
The developmental wing of the tour, PGTI NexGen, is also set for growth with three new events in Patna, Lucknow, and Bhubaneswar, the latter marking the tour&rsquo;s debut in Odisha. In total, eight NexGen events are planned for 2025, strengthening the pathway for emerging golfers.
Since its formation, PGTI has held tournaments in 17 states and 2 union territories. With Odisha now added to the roster, the tour will span 18 states, showcasing its mission to broaden the sport's reach in India.
