Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed officials to ensure foolproof security and flawless arrangements for the upcoming India&ndash;South Africa T20 International match scheduled to take place at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on December 9.
During a high-level preparatory meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan on Wednesday, CM Majhi underscored the importance of maintaining top-tier security measures, especially in light of the recent blast in Delhi that claimed over eight lives.
He urged the police administration to remain on high alert and ensure public safety throughout the event. 
The Chief Minister also instructed senior officials from the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) and state administration to execute all plans efficiently, ensuring that the match reflects Odisha&rsquo;s organisational capability and dignity.
&ldquo;Cricket is one of the most popular sports in our country, and this match will draw national and global attention. Therefore, it must be conducted smoothly, reflecting Odisha&rsquo;s efficiency and honour,&rdquo; Majhi said.
The Chief Minister also directed authorities to set up a green corridor to facilitate emergency medical movement and to guarantee smooth arrangements for crowd management, ticket sales, and health services.
OCA secretary Sanjay Behera briefed the meeting on preparations, including ticketing, crowd control, lighting, stadium infrastructure, fire safety, parking, and traffic management.
The state government faced embarrassment earlier this year after a floodlight failure at Barabati Stadium disrupted play for over 35 minutes during the India&ndash;England ODI in February. 
The government later sought an explanation from the OCA regarding the incident.
