According to records from the Intellectual Property India database, Dhoni filed the trademark application on June 5, 2023. The status now reads &ldquo;accepted and advertised,&rdquo; meaning it has cleared initial scrutiny and is currently open to public opposition before being officially registered.
The term &lsquo;Captain Cool&rsquo; has become synonymous with Dhoni&rsquo;s unshakeable composure during high-pressure cricketing moments, particularly in major international tournaments. His application is filed under Class 41, covering services related to sports training, coaching, and facilities.
Interestingly, the same term was previously applied for by Prabha Skill Sports (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. in July 2021 under the same class. However, that application now carries the status &ldquo;rectification filed,&rdquo; indicating possible legal opposition or conflict, potentially easing the path for Dhoni&rsquo;s claim.
Meanwhile, June has been a landmark month for the legendary cricketer. Dhoni was formally inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in a ceremony held in London, becoming the 11th Indian cricketer to receive the honour. He remains the only captain in cricket history to have won all three major ICC white-ball tournaments &mdash; the T20 World Cup (2007), the ODI World Cup (2011), and the Champions Trophy (2013).
