The Miami Marlins extended their late-season surge with a 6-4 extra-inning victory over the Texas Rangers on Friday in Arlington, Texas, dealing another blow to the Rangers&rsquo; postseason hopes.
In the decisive 12th inning, Jakob Marsee, Brian Navarreto, and Dane Myers delivered key run-scoring hits. 
Marsee opened the rally with a double off Patrick Corbin, driving in automatic runner Agustin Ramirez to give Miami the lead. 
A wild pitch advanced Marsee to third, and Navarreto followed with a double to make it 5-3. 
Myers capped the inning with an RBI single, adding insurance for the Marlins.
George Soriano, the fifth Miami pitcher of the night, worked the final two innings, allowing just one run in the bottom of the 12th while securing the win.
Despite leaving 13 runners stranded, the Marlins outhit the Rangers 14-4.
The victory marked Miami&rsquo;s fourth straight win and eighth in their last nine games. 
Meanwhile, the Rangers dropped their fifth consecutive contest, further hurting their chances in the American League wild-card race.&nbsp;
With only eight games left, Texas sits five games behind both the Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox for the final playoff spots.
