Indian shooter Manu Bhaker added another medal to her illustrious career by clinching bronze in the women&rsquo;s 10m air pistol event at the Asian Shooting Championship on Tuesday.
The two-time Olympian shot 219.7 in the eight-woman final to secure third place. China&rsquo;s Qianke Ma topped the podium with 243.2, while Korea&rsquo;s Yang Jiin finished second with 241.6.
Earlier in the 60-shot qualification round, Manu scored 583 (18x) to rank third, ahead of Yang Jiin (581 &ndash; 16x, fifth place) and Qianke Ma (579 &ndash; 15x, seventh place).
India has had a strong start to the competition. On the opening day, the shooters bagged two gold and three silver medals. Kapil Bainsla took the junior men&rsquo;s air pistol gold, while both senior and junior men&rsquo;s teams secured silver.
The men&rsquo;s 10m air pistol team of Anmol Jain, Saurabh Chaudhary and Aditya Malra opened India&rsquo;s medal tally with a silver, scoring 1735-52x. They finished just behind China&rsquo;s Hu Kai, Changjie You and Yifan Zhang, who won gold with 1744-51x.
In the youth category, 17-year-old Girish Gupta struck gold in the men&rsquo;s 10m air pistol event, leading an Indian 1-2 finish. He shot 241.3 in the final, while 14-year-old Dev Pratap settled for silver with 238.6.
India&rsquo;s senior shooting squad for the Asian meet includes 35 members across 15 events, while a total of 129 shooters are competing in the junior categories at Shymkent.
