The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has unveiled the Indian squads for a series of upcoming international shooting tournaments, headlined by the 16th Asian Shooting Championship (ASC) set to take place in Shymkent, Kazakhstan from August 16 to 30.
A total of 35 shooters have been named in the senior squad across 15 events, including three mixed-team competitions. Manu Bhaker, a double Olympic bronze medallist, will lead the Indian contingent, being the only athlete selected for two individual events &mdash; the 10m Air Pistol and 25m Pistol (women).
Top-tier names returning to the squad include Rudrankksh Patil, Anjum Moudgil, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Saurabh Chaudhary, and Kynan Chenai. Rising stars like Esha Singh, Mehuli Ghosh, and Kiran Ankush Jadhav feature in multiple squads across different events.
The NRAI also announced squads for the ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol in Ningbo, China (Sept 7&ndash;17), and the ISSF Junior World Cup to be hosted in New Delhi (Sept 24&ndash;Oct 2). Veteran shooter Swapnil Kusale and Olympian Rahi Sarnobat also return to the World Cup squad.
An interesting change appears in the junior lineup, where Raiza Dhillon replaces Mansi Raghuvanshi for the Delhi World Cup women's skeet team, while both feature in different junior squads.
Meanwhile, Indian shooters are currently participating in the World Cup Shotgun in Lonato, Italy, where Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Ganemat Sekhon are off to promising starts.
