In a heartfelt public statement on Sunday, the India vice-captain urged everyone to respect the privacy of both families as they navigate the emotional aftermath. &ldquo;I need to clarify that the wedding is called off. I request you to please respect the privacy of both families at this time and allow us the space to process and move on at our own pace,&rdquo; she wrote, adding that she wishes to close the matter immediately.
Mandhana&rsquo;s message reflected frustration at the &ldquo;wild speculations&rdquo; circulating online following weeks of dramatic developments around the planned ceremony in Sangli. After elaborate pre-wedding festivities, the celebrations came to a halt when her father suffered a sudden medical emergency on the morning of the wedding, prompting her to postpone the event indefinitely. Soon after, Palash was also hospitalised, deepening public curiosity and fuelling rumours that spiralled across social media. Mandhana later deleted her wedding posts and withdrew from the Women&rsquo;s Big Bash League, with teammate Jemimah Rodrigues staying back to support her.
The uncertainty intensified when neither Mandhana nor Palash issued an official clarification for days, even as Palash&rsquo;s sister, singer Palak Muchhal, acknowledged that both families were enduring a &ldquo;very tough time&rdquo; and trying to stay positive.
