As the India women&rsquo;s cricket team travels to Newcastle for the ODI series decider against England, the journey is more than just a commute, it&rsquo;s a cherished moment. The team enjoyed a scenic and spirited train ride from London, soaking in the countryside ahead of Tuesday&rsquo;s final clash at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street.
In a behind-the-scenes video shared by the BCCI, the players can be seen unwinding during their final leg of the 35 day UK tour. While some passed time over a game of Ludo, others relaxed with books or quiet reflection.
"This is our last journey of the tour; after this, everyone goes their separate ways. So, this train ride will always be a special memory,&rdquo; said wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh.
Team physio Akansha Satyavanshi added, &ldquo;Every travel day has been a good and memorable one. The tour just flew by.&rdquo;
India started the ODI series strong, securing a four-wicket win in the first match. Deepti Sharma anchored the chase with a gritty 62*, supported by Jemimah Rodrigues (48). With the ball, Kranti Goud and Sneh Rana provided crucial breakthroughs to restrict England.
However, England bounced back in the second ODI at Lord&rsquo;s with an eight-wicket victory. Rain reduced the game to 29 overs, and India could manage just 143. England&rsquo;s top order held firm to chase a revised target of 115 in 24 overs with ease, leveling the series 1&ndash;1.
As both teams prepare for the final showdown, the mood in the Indian camp remains light and optimistic. The third ODI promises high stakes and high energy, with the series on the line and both teams eager for a statement finish.
