A team selected by the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) excelled at the 2025 World Pickleball Championship in South Korea, securing four medals &ndash; two gold and two silver &ndash; at the event held at the Seogwipo Tennis Centre, Jeju-do.
The prestigious Tier 3 tournament, organised by Pickleball Global, featured over 230 top-tier players from across Asia &ndash; including Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, the Philippines, and Singapore &ndash; competing for top honours. The championship began on 5 June, with the finals taking place on Sunday.
In a standout performance, Kuldip Mahajan stole the spotlight by clinching two gold medals &ndash; in the Men&rsquo;s Doubles 19+ category with Ryan Iam from Hong Kong and in the Mixed Doubles 19+ category with Vrushali Thakare.
India&rsquo;s medal tally continued with Sonu Kumar Vishwakarma earning a silver medal in the Men&rsquo;s Singles 19+ category, while Vrushali Thakare added another silver in the Women&rsquo;s Doubles 19+, partnering with Angie Bong from Indonesia.
Arvind Prabhoo, President of AIPA, expressed his delight at the team&rsquo;s stellar performance on the international stage.

This milestone at the WPC Korea 2025 underscores India&rsquo;s increasing prominence and competitive strength in international pickleball. With consistent success and a growing talent pool, AIPA remains committed to nurturing champions and developing a robust ecosystem to compete at the highest levels globally.
Meanwhile, the All India Pickleball Association is currently embroiled in a legal dispute with the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) over official recognition as a National Sports Federation (NSF). According to AIPA, the IPA &ndash; formed just five months ago &ndash; has recently been recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, a decision that AIPA is contesting in the Delhi High Court.
