&nbsp;The BCCI has announced India&rsquo;s squad for the Asia Cup 2025 T20I tournament in the UAE, naming Shubman Gill as vice-captain alongside skipper Suryakumar Yadav.
Gill, who last played a T20I against Sri Lanka in July 2024, returns after a year, reinforcing India&rsquo;s intent to shape him as an all-format leader following his elevation in the Test setup.
The big boosts come with the return of Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav, both key figures from India&rsquo;s victorious T20 World Cup 2024 campaign in Barbados.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar confirmed that Prasidh Krishna, Washington Sundar, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, and Yashasvi Jaiswal will serve as standbys.
The Asia Cup, featuring eight teams, will run from September 9 to 28 across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Defending champions India are in Group A with Pakistan, Oman, and hosts UAE. They open against the UAE on September 10, followed by a high-voltage clash with Pakistan on September 14.
The tournament kicks off a busy run for India, who are set to play 15 more T20Is before co-hosting the 2026 T20 World Cup with Sri Lanka.
