Dhruv Jurel fell short of a half-century on Day 2 while attempting a big shot, and India declared their innings soon after. 
Assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate later revealed that Jurel had been informed the team planned to wrap up the innings, prompting his aggressive approach.
Jurel has continued to strengthen his case as India&rsquo;s long-term wicketkeeper in Test cricket, with many viewing him as a strong alternative to Rishabh Pant. 
His impressive performances behind the stumps have drawn praise throughout the recent two-Test series against the West Indies, as well as in the earlier England series where he stood in for Pant. 
With the bat, Jurel has been equally consistent&mdash;having scored a century in the first Test against the West Indies and a brisk 44 in the second before getting out to Roston Chase in New Delhi.
Speaking after Day 3, Ten Doeschate lauded Jurel&rsquo;s commitment to the team-first approach. 
&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve always known he&rsquo;s a quality player. The hundred in the first Test and the way he played yesterday just reinforced that,&rdquo; he said. 
&ldquo;He could have ended the day unbeaten on 44, but the message went out that we wanted to wrap things up soon. He took the attack on and got out straight away. That&rsquo;s the kind of culture we&rsquo;re building&mdash;players putting the team&rsquo;s needs above their own. We&rsquo;ve been very impressed with him.&rdquo;
