FC Barcelona ended their pre-season in style with a commanding 5-0 win over Italian side Como in the 60th edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy on Sunday.
Due to ongoing renovations at Camp Nou and financial hurdles affecting player registrations, the match was held at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, accommodating just 6,000 fans. Those in attendance witnessed a clinical first-half display from Hansi Flick&rsquo;s men.
Fermin Lopez stole the spotlight, scoring in the 21st and 36th minutes with each foot before Marcus Rashford set up Raphinha for Barca&rsquo;s third in the 38th. Raphinha then assisted Lamine Yamal, who tapped in the fourth just before halftime.
Yamal added his second and Barcelona&rsquo;s fifth in the 48th minute, finishing a swift counterattack. With the match effectively sealed, both sides made substitutions, slowing the game&rsquo;s pace.
Lopez&rsquo;s standout performance earned him the Estrella award, voted by fans on FC Barcelona&rsquo;s official site. &ldquo;It was about building confidence for La Liga. The team did a great job,&rdquo; Lopez said post-match.
