<p data-start="330" data-end="517"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Starting from ninth on the grid, Antonelli locked up the rear brakes of his car heading into Turn 3 and collided with Verstappen&rsquo;s Red Bull, forcing both drivers to retire from the race.</span></p>
<p data-start="519" data-end="935"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Following a stewards' hearing, it was determined that Antonelli&rsquo;s evasive manoeuvre&mdash;triggered by an attempt to avoid Liam Lawson ahead&mdash;left him with reduced grip on the inside line, making it impossible to slow down in time. While the stewards acknowledged that the incident was not a deliberate move, they ruled that Antonelli bore full responsibility and did not apply the typical leniency for first-lap incidents.</span></p>
<p data-start="937" data-end="1074"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The penalty includes a three-place grid drop for the next race at Silverstone (July 4&ndash;6) and two points on Antonelli&rsquo;s FIA Super Licence.</span></p>
<p data-start="1076" data-end="1295"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Reflecting on the incident, Antonelli admitted the mistake: &ldquo;I locked the rear under braking and tried to avoid Lawson, but couldn&rsquo;t stop the car in time. I feel sorry for the team and Max, and I apologised right away.&rdquo;</span></p>
<p data-start="1297" data-end="1468"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Verstappen accepted the apology, saying: &ldquo;It&rsquo;s unfortunate, but mistakes happen. Kimi came to speak with me after the race. It&rsquo;s not a big deal&mdash;every driver&rsquo;s been there.&rdquo;</span></p>
