Preliminary investigation into the car explosion near Delhi&rsquo;s Red Fort suggests it was an act of terror. 
Officials confirmed that a Hyundai i20 car packed with explosives was deliberately detonated near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, killing nine people and injuring over 30.
Investigators suspect the explosion was a suicide attack linked to a recently busted Faridabad module. 
Forensic teams identified traces of high-grade explosives, including ammonium nitrate and RDX, at the site.
Authorities revealed that the car&rsquo;s ownership changed hands several times, a method commonly used in SVB-IED (suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device) attacks. 
The vehicle was reportedly purchased by Tariq, a resident of Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, whose ties to the Faridabad module are under scrutiny.
The explosion occurred around 6:52 p.m., igniting nearby vehicles. 
Officials believe the Faridabad module played a major role in supplying explosives and planning the attack. 
One of its members, Dr. Umar Mohammad, is suspected to have been inside the car during the blast.&nbsp;
A DNA test is underway to confirm his identity.
Mohammad, wanted for terror funding and arms smuggling, had been evading authorities. 
Investigations trace the car&rsquo;s ownership from Mohammad Salman to Nadeem, then to a Faridabad car dealer, followed by Tariq, and finally to Dr. Umar Mohammad.
Police found that the vehicle had been parked near the Red Fort for nearly three hours before being driven out into heavy traffic, suggesting the attackers may have detonated it in panic after the Faridabad module was busted.
An official said all indicators point to a &ldquo;Fedayeen attack&rdquo; that was executed hastily and may not have gone according to plan. 
The explosion followed the arrest of Dr. Muzzamil Shakeel, from whom authorities recovered 2,900 kilograms of explosive materials.
The busted module was reportedly operated by Jaish-e-Mohammad and Ansar Ghazwatul Hind, a group affiliated with Al-Qaeda. 
Investigators believe the attackers rushed the Red Fort blast after their network was exposed, possibly to divert attention from the larger terror plot.
