<p data-start="632" data-end="979"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Proceedings in the House saw a brief disruption when Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge attempted to raise concerns about Bihar&rsquo;s electoral roll revision. Chair Sasmit Patra expunged the remarks after Leader of the House J.P. Nadda pointed out they were unrelated to the legislative agenda. The Opposition subsequently staged a walkout.</span></p>

<p data-start="1701" data-end="1956"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Support also came from Ayodhya Rama Reddy Alla (YSRCP), BJP MPs Dr. Parmar Janswantsinh Salamsinh Jhala, Dhananjay Bhimrao Mahadik, Narhari Amin, Bhubneshwar Kalita, Seema Dwivedi, Maya Naroliya, TDP&rsquo;s Sana Satish Babu, and BRS&rsquo;s Ravi Chandra Vaddiraju.</span></p>
<p data-start="1958" data-end="2282"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill aligns India&rsquo;s anti-doping laws with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) standards, granting operational independence to the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) and removing oversight powers from the National Anti-Doping Board to safeguard impartiality in enforcement and adjudication.</span></p>
<p data-start="2284" data-end="2639"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The Sports Governance Bill introduces a unified legal framework rooted in transparency, fair play, and global best practices. It establishes a National Sports Board to regulate and recognise sports federations, with the authority to de-recognise bodies for election irregularities, lack of financial transparency, or failure to publish audited accounts.</span></p>
<p data-start="2641" data-end="2961"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">It also provides for a National Sports Tribunal, chaired by a sitting or former Supreme Court judge, to adjudicate disputes related to athlete selection, governance, and federation elections. Tribunal decisions will be appealable only to the Supreme Court, offering athletes a faster, more specialised path to justice.</span></p>
<p data-start="2963" data-end="3232"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">With the passage of these two Bills, India takes a decisive step toward building a transparent, accountable, and competitive sports ecosystem &mdash; one that promises not only international success but dignity, fairness, and robust institutional support for every athlete.</span></p>
