A woman Naxalite carrying a bounty of ₹5 lakh was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh&rsquo;s Sukma district on Thursday, police confirmed. 
She had been wanted in connection with nine cases of violence.
The gun battle broke out in the morning on a forested hill between Gufdi and Permapara villages under Gadiras police station limits, after a District Reserve Guard (DRG) team launched an operation following intelligence inputs.
The deceased Maoist was identified as Buski Nuppo, a member of the Malangir area committee. 
From the site, security personnel recovered a rifle, cartridges, a wireless set, explosives, Maoist literature, and other items.
Police said Nuppo was involved in multiple serious offences across Sukma and Dantewada districts.
With this encounter, security forces have eliminated 247 Naxalites in Chhattisgarh so far in 2025. 
Of these, 218 were neutralized in Bastar, 27 in Gariaband, and two in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki.&nbsp;
Earlier on September 11, ten Maoists &mdash; including CPI (Maoist) central committee member Modem Balakrishna &mdash; were killed in Gariaband.
