In a horrifying case of domestic violence, a woman was brutally stabbed to death by her husband inside the Kulithalai Government Hospital in Karur, Tamil Nadu, during the early hours of Sunday.
The accused, Vishruth, is currently absconding, and a manhunt has been launched by police.
The tragic incident followed a violent altercation between Vishruth and his wife Shruthi at their Karur residence on Saturday night. Shruthi, injured during the fight, was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
However, early Sunday morning, Vishruth allegedly entered the hospital under the guise of a visit and attacked Shruthi with a concealed knife, killing her on the spot. Hospital staff and onlookers were left shocked as he fled the scene.
Authorities quickly reached the hospital and registered a case of murder. Investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to apprehend the accused.
This case adds to a growing list of domestic violence-related deaths in Tamil Nadu. Several similar killings have occurred in recent months in Tirunelveli, Vellore, and Villupuram, sparking calls for stronger legal enforcement, better hospital security, and improved support systems for abuse victims.
Social activists have urged the government to act swiftly to prevent such tragedies and provide protection to women facing domestic abuse.
