A disturbing video has surfaced on social media showing a man being assaulted by his daughters while his wife holds him down, days before he was found dead in Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s Morena.
Electrician Harendra Maurya, the father of three daughters and a son, often had disputes with his wife, according to neighbours and relatives.On March 1, following his daughters' weddings, his wife reportedly expressed her desire to separate and move to her father&rsquo;s house. Disturbed by this, Harendra locked himself in a room. When he did not come out for a long time, his family began searching for him and eventually found him hanging. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police have sent his body for an autopsy to determine whether his death was a suicide or a murder.
The video, dated 1 February, shows Harendra&rsquo;s daughters hitting him with a stick as he screams in pain, while his wife restrains him. His young son is also seen trying to intervene, but one of the daughters threatens to beat him up too.
&ldquo;We got information that a man has died by suicide. A preliminary probe has pointed to family disputes,&rdquo; said senior police officer Dipali Chandoriya. &ldquo;The body has been sent for post-mortem, and we will investigate the matter based on the findings,&rdquo; she added.
The viral video has triggered public outrage, with social media users demanding a thorough investigation and justice for Harendra.
