Two youths, Aman Saifi and Sameer Saifi from Zakir Colony, have been arrested in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, for making indecent remarks on women constables at the Nauchandi Mela. They filmed the officers in uniform and uploaded the video on social media, which went viral and triggered public outrage.
The arrests were made after the Hindu organisation leader, Sachin Sirohi, filed a complaint. Acting on DIG&rsquo;s orders, police reviewed CCTV footage and identified the suspects. A third accused, Adil, is currently absconding.
At the police station, the arrested youths were made to do sit-ups and publicly apologise, promising to treat women with respect. They are to be produced in court soon, while police teams continue searching for Adil.
The Nauchandi Mela, extended until June 30, remains under heavy police security following the incident.&nbsp;
