In a shocking case of teenage violence, two Class 11 students were detained for allegedly shooting their 17-year-old classmate with a licensed pistol belonging to one of the accused&rsquo;s fathers. The incident occurred late Saturday at Central Park Resorts in Sector 48, a luxury housing complex in Gurugram.
Police said the victim was rushed to Medanta Hospital, where he remains under treatment. Both accused have been taken into custody and are being questioned.
According to investigators, the attack was the result of a personal dispute between the students. The main accused had reportedly called the victim several times to meet at his father&rsquo;s rented apartment. The victim initially declined but later agreed after repeated requests.
When the victim arrived, another friend of the accused was already present. Moments later, the main accused allegedly fired at the victim using his father&rsquo;s licensed pistol, inflicting serious injuries.
Responding swiftly, police reached the spot and collected key evidence, including a pistol, two magazines, 70 live rounds, and one empty shell. A forensic team examined the scene to gather ballistic details.
The victim&rsquo;s mother filed a complaint at Sadar Police Station, accusing the student of luring her son under false pretenses before attacking him. Preliminary findings suggest a prior altercation between the teenagers had escalated into violence.
Gurugram Police have registered a case and launched a detailed probe. Officers have also urged licensed gun owners to ensure their firearms are securely stored and inaccessible to minors to prevent similar tragedies.
