In a disturbing incident reported from the Sampigehalli area of Bengaluru, two Muslim men were allegedly assaulted by a mob of 7-8 individuals and forced to chant "Jai Shri Ram" slogans.
As per the FIR filed by Mohammad Zameer Pasha, the incident took place when he and his friend Waseem Ahmad were on their way to collect a customer&rsquo;s vehicle for repairs. The duo stopped briefly near a eucalyptus grove on Sampigehalli Main Road when they were confronted and questioned by a group of men.
Tensions escalated after Waseem objected to the group&rsquo;s interference. The mob allegedly began abusing and assaulting the pair with sticks, according to the complaint. Zameer managed to escape, but Waseem was severely beaten and reportedly forced to chant religious slogans under duress.
The FIR, registered at Sampigehalli police station, includes serious charges under Sections 126(2), 115(2), 118(1), 299, 352, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for wrongful restraint, assault, criminal intimidation, and deliberate intent to outrage religious feelings.
Waseem was treated at Yelahanka General Hospital and has reportedly lost partial hearing in his right ear due to the assault.
Reacting to the incident, Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara said the police would act per legal protocol and no special orders would be issued.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the unknown accused, and investigations are underway.
