Rajasthan Police have arrested a youth in Sri Ganganagar and recovered an illegal pistol along with four cartridges, uncovering suspected links to an ongoing terror investigation in Punjab.
The accused, identified as Rakesh alias Rocky Nehra, a resident of Haripura village, was detained on Jassa Singh Road by a police team from the Central Bus Stand outpost. During interrogation, investigators found indications of his connection with Ramlal, a key terror accused recently arrested in Ludhiana.
Police officials revealed that Ramlal, who hails from the Lalgarh area of Sri Ganganagar district, was injured during an encounter with Punjab Police last week along with another suspect, Deepu, a resident of Abohar. Intelligence inputs suggest both were operating under the direction of a Pakistani handler.
The pistol recovered from Rocky closely matches firearms seized earlier from Ramlal. Preliminary questioning revealed that Rocky had jointly procured the weapon along with the Ludhiana accused. Based on this revelation, investigators confirmed Rocky&rsquo;s links with the terror module operating in Punjab.
Rocky has been booked under the Arms Act and will be taken to Ludhiana for further verification as the investigation continues. Authorities stated that security agencies remain on high alert following intelligence warnings about potential attacks in multiple states.
