The murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, a businessman from Indore, has taken a terrifying turn, according to the Meghalaya Police.&nbsp; According to investigators, the murderers intended to kill an unnamed woman and burn her body to make it look like Raja's wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi.&nbsp; According to the authorities, the goal was to give Sonam more time to hide before the truth was revealed.
According to East Khasi Hills police superintendent Vivek Syiem, Sonam Raghuvanshi was a co-conspirator in the murderous scheme, while Raj Kushwaha was the mastermind.
The entire plot to kill Raja Raghuvanshi was decided in Indore just before his wedding, according to the accused, who also claimed that three other plans for the murder did not come to fruition before Raja was killed. According to Syiem, the four accused killers, including Raj Khushwaha, are friends of Sonam and Raj, and one of them is the latter's cousin. The murderous plot started in February, three months before the wedding, and Sonam turned himself in on June 9 in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, which is about 1,200 kilometres away.
Another idea, according to the officer, was to kill any woman and then claim that it was Sonam. Another plan was to make people think that Sonam was washed away by a river.
Arriving a few days before the newlyweds' May 19 arrival in Assam, the crew's initial plan was to murder Raja somewhere in Guwahati. Since neither plan worked out, they planned to go to Shillong first, and then Sohra.
After meeting at Nongriat, the three of them headed to Weisawdong Falls, where they killed Raja in front of Sonam by striking him with a machete in the parking lot before tossing his body into a ravine. Since Akash's shirt had a blood stain on it, Sonam handed him the raincoat she was wearing. After leaving Weisawdong on scooters, Akash tossed away the raincoat because it was also stained with blood.
Via Vishal Chauhan, Raj gave Sonam a burqa, which she used to go from Shillong to Indore. Later, a tour guide reported seeing Sonam and Raj with three other people. Raj instructed her to flee Indore and return to Siliguri while feigning to be a victim of kidnapping. However, Raj became alarmed after Akash was taken into custody on June 8 and forced Sonam to call her relatives and claim that she had escaped kidnapping. Sonam then made an appearance in Ghazipur before being arrested.
