<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">Punjab Police have arrested a local man on serious espionage charges after investigations revealed he had been passing classified military information to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) for nearly five years.</p>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">Gagandeep Singh, also known as Gagan, faces charges under the Official Secrets Act following his arrest in connection with what police describe as a sophisticated intelligence-gathering operation. An FIR has been lodged at City Police Station, Tarn Taran.</p>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">According to senior police officials, the suspect had established direct contact with Pakistani intelligence operatives through Gopal Singh Chawla, a Pakistan-based Khalistani supporter who allegedly served as an intermediary in the espionage network.</p>

<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">During the investigation, police recovered a mobile telephone containing what they describe as intelligence materials that Singh had shared with Pakistani operatives. The device also contained contact details for more than 20 ISI handlers, suggesting the scope of the network may be far more extensive than initially suspected.</p>
<p class="whitespace-normal break-words">"The Police have recovered a mobile phone containing intelligence that he shared with the PIOs as well as the details of over 20 ISI contacts," DG Yadav confirmed. "Thorough financial and technical investigations are underway to trace other linkages and establish the full scope of this espionage network."</p>
