A grim incident has unfolded in one of South Delhi&rsquo;s upscale neighbourhoods, where the daughter-in-law of prominent pan masala businessman Kamal Kishore Chaurasia was found dead under circumstances suspected to be suicide. The deceased, 40-year-old Deepti Chaurasia, was married to Harpreet Chaurasia and lived with the family in Vasant Vihar.
According to officials, she was found hanging inside the home on Tuesday afternoon. Her husband discovered her unresponsive and rushed her to Safdarjung Hospital, where doctors confirmed she had died before arrival. A post-mortem examination is expected to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigators reportedly recovered a note from her room indicating emotional distress, suggesting personal issues may have affected her mental state. Police sources believe family-related concerns may have contributed, although a detailed investigation is still in progress. The couple married in 2010 and shares a 14-year-old son.
The body has been sent for autopsy, and no official police statement has been released yet. The family has also not issued any public comment.
Kamal Kishore Chaurasia, known for major pan masala brands such as Kamla Pasand and Rajshree, operates his business across Kanpur, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Starting with a small stall in Kanpur&rsquo;s Feelkhana area decades ago, he has expanded the enterprise into a multi-billion-rupee operation.
