A shocking incident of violence was reported from East Delhi&rsquo;s Laxmi Nagar, where a 52-year-old businessman, his wife and their son were allegedly assaulted by a group of men over a dispute related to the ownership of a gym located in the basement of their house.
Videos of the assault, which have since gone viral on social media, show the businessman&rsquo;s 26-year-old son being dragged out of their ground-floor residence, abused, stripped naked on the street and repeatedly beaten. He was kicked and struck on the face with a shoe in full public view.
The businessman&rsquo;s wife alleged that her husband was also stripped and brutally assaulted inside the gym premises using an iron rod. She further alleged that she was physically and sexually assaulted while trying to intervene and stop the attack. According to her account, she was slapped, kicked, pushed to the ground and subjected to inappropriate touching by the attackers.
She stated that she ran to the Laxmi Nagar police station to seek help. During her absence, the attackers allegedly dragged her son out of the house and continued assaulting him.
The family claimed the dispute dates back to 2016, when they hired one of the accused, Satish Yadav, also known as Pintoo, as a caretaker for the gym. Over time, he allegedly took control of the premises and refused to vacate despite receiving multiple legal notices. The situation escalated when the ground floor of the house was flooded and the family attempted to access the gym, triggering the violent confrontation.
An FIR has been registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges related to causing hurt, wrongful restraint, criminal trespass, sexual assault, sexual harassment and criminal intimidation.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Abhishek Dhania confirmed that Satish Yadav has been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest the remaining accused.
