A law student identified as Tapas tragically fell to his death from the seventh floor of Supreme Towers in Noida's Sector 99 during a party at a friend's apartment. Tapas, who was pursuing his LLB at a private university in Noida, was attending the gathering on Saturday when the incident occurred.
The Noida Police Commissionerate's media cell confirmed they are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. Officials are questioning friends who were present at the party to determine whether the incident was accidental or involved foul play.
"We are examining all possible angles in this case," stated a police spokesperson. "Further legal action will be initiated once we receive a formal complaint from the family." The student's body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
This incident adds to a concerning pattern of high-rise falls in the region. In November 2024, a similar tragedy occurred when a 13-year-old boy fell from the 14th floor of a Greater Noida West apartment building, which investigators determined was accidental.
