A 45-year-old man was brutally killed after being attacked multiple times with an axe at his home in Kanpur&rsquo;s Bithoor area, in a case that has shocked the locality. The incident occurred late Wednesday night in Tikra village following a prolonged domestic argument between the couple after they consumed alcohol together.
The victim, identified as Pappu, collapsed in a pool of blood after sustaining repeated blows to the head. He was initially taken to hospital in a critical condition and died early the next morning. During the police inspection, the couple&rsquo;s four-year-old child was found hiding inside a room of the house.
Investigators found that attempts were allegedly made to clean bloodstains from the floor and misrepresent the cause of injuries. Medical examination later confirmed that the wounds were inflicted using sharp and blunt weapons. Post-mortem findings revealed over 10 severe head injuries, with an axe, a rolling pin and a grinding stone believed to have been used in the assault.
The accused woman fled the house following the man&rsquo;s death. Police are probing whether the killing was premeditated and are conducting searches to trace her. No formal complaint has yet been submitted by the family, and further investigation is underway.
