In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped by her 16-year-old Instagram &ldquo;friend&rdquo; in Gujrat&rsquo;s Aravalli district. The Class V student went missing from her home in Dhansura village in Aravalli district on December 31, which prompted her parents to file a kidnapping case.
Acting on human intel and technical resources, the police tracked down the minors the next day.&nbsp;
The police found out about the minor&rsquo;s Instagram friend from her parents. &ldquo;When we interrogated the parents, we discovered that the girl was using Instagram on her mother&rsquo;s smartphone. She came in contact with a 16-year-old boy and they used to chat and talk over the phone frequently. The boy kidnapped her, took her to his home and raped her,&rdquo; said a police official.
The survivor and her sister, also a minor, had been using the popular social media application on their parents&rsquo; phones. They had created over seven Instagram accounts, but only two of them were active, the police said.
The boy has been sent to an observation home in Mehsana. &ldquo;We will take action against the boy under the Juvenile Justice Act,&rdquo; the police said.
