An MBA student who had been missing for two days was discovered dead inside her classmate&rsquo;s rented accommodation in Indore, triggering outrage and concern across the city. Police suspect foul play and have identified her male classmate, believed to be her boyfriend, as the prime suspect. He is currently on the run.
The 24-year-old was pursuing her Master of Business Administration at a city-based college. Her family filed a missing person complaint after she failed to return home on February 11, when she had told them she was attending a birthday gathering.
The case took a disturbing turn when residents of Dwarkapuri alerted authorities about a strong odour coming from a locked house in the neighbourhood. Upon entering the premises, police found the woman&rsquo;s body inside. Preliminary findings suggest she may have been strangled, though officials are awaiting the post-mortem report to confirm the exact cause of death.
According to the victim&rsquo;s father, the accused had allegedly been pressuring her for money and threatening to leak her private photographs. He further claimed that objectionable images were circulated on a college WhatsApp group, escalating tensions between them.
Investigators believe the murder may have stemmed from a conflict in their relationship. Digital evidence, including mobile phones and online chats, is being examined as part of the probe. The accused, originally from Mandsaur and residing in Indore, remains absconding despite ongoing search operations.
