A suspected murder case in Hyderabad has taken a dramatic turn after police found that a woman allegedly killed her husband with the help of her younger lover and attempted to pass off the death as a heart attack.
The 36-year-old woman initially informed relatives and the Medipally police that her husband had collapsed in the washroom and died due to cardiac arrest. She maintained the same version while lodging a complaint, stating that her husband, a 45-year-old logistics manager working at a private university, was found unconscious at home and later declared dead at a government hospital in Malkajgiri.
However, investigators grew suspicious during the examination of the body after noticing injuries on the victim&rsquo;s cheek and neck, which were inconsistent with a natural death. These marks prompted a deeper investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man&rsquo;s death.
Police analysis of CCTV footage and technical evidence contradicted the woman&rsquo;s account and revealed a different sequence of events. Based on the findings, officers arrested the woman, her 22-year-old paramour, who works as a construction labourer, and a third accused, allegedly involved in the crime.
Investigators said the woman was involved in an extramarital relationship with the younger man. When her husband began questioning the relationship, the two allegedly conspired to eliminate him.
According to police, the murder occurred at the couple&rsquo;s residence in Boduppal on December 11, shortly after the victim returned home from work. The husband was allegedly restrained and assaulted by the co-accused while the woman held his legs. The paramour then strangled the victim using scarves, leading to his death.
Following the killing, the accused allegedly changed the victim&rsquo;s clothes and disposed of items linked to the crime in an attempt to destroy evidence. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is ongoing.
