A 27-year-old woman named Sushma reportedly died by suicide after jumping from the cable bridge over Durgam Cheruvu Lake in Hyderabad&rsquo;s Hitech City area. Police recovered her body from the lake on Thursday morning. A resident of Addagutta, Secunderabad, she had gone to her office in Hitech City on Wednesday but did not return home. Her father, Anjaiah, contacted her workplace and was told she had left around 10:30 p.m. He then filed a missing complaint at Madhapur Police Station around 4 a.m.
Hours later, police were informed about a body floating in the lake. Upon investigation, the deceased was identified as Sushma. Her body was shifted to Osmania Hospital for postmortem. Police suspect suicide and are probing the circumstances that may have led to the incident.
In a separate matter, Gachibowli police registered a case against Sandhya Conventions and Hotels Ltd Managing Director Saranala Sreedhar Rao and three others, based on a complaint by Kushichand Vadde. He alleged that Rao&rsquo;s associates attacked his car and claimed that he faces a threat to his life. The case has been filed under various sections of the Bharat Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh&rsquo;s Bapatla district, an APSRTC bus collided with a stationary truck near Patamaguluru village in Santamaguluru mandal. One passenger died on the spot, and seven others were injured. The bus was travelling from Vijayawada to Srisailam. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
