<p data-start="165" data-end="427"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The <span class="hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline"><span class="whitespace-normal">Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad</span></span> has uncovered an alleged illegal drug manufacturing operation in Rajasthan&rsquo;s Bhiwadi industrial belt, seizing nearly 22 kilograms of psychotropic substances and arresting three men in a coordinated inter-state operation.</span></p>
<p data-start="429" data-end="730"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The raid was carried out on Sunday at a factory operating under the name APL Pharma, located at Plot No. H1/13(D) in the RIICO Industrial Area, Kaharani, within Tapukara tehsil of Khairthal&ndash;Tijara district. The premises fall under the jurisdiction of the Bhiwadi Phase-3 (UIT Sector-3) police station.</span></p>
<p data-start="732" data-end="984"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The operation was jointly conducted by the Gujarat ATS, the <span class="hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline"><span class="whitespace-normal">Rajasthan Special Operations Group</span></span> Jaipur unit, and local Bhiwadi police, following specific intelligence inputs suggesting the illegal manufacture of banned psychotropic drugs at the site.</span></p>
<p data-start="986" data-end="1168"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Officials said the intelligence was corroborated through technical surveillance and human inputs before a search was authorised and executed under the supervision of senior officers.</span></p>
<h4 data-start="1170" data-end="1212"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Drugs, chemicals and machinery seized</span></h4>
<p data-start="1214" data-end="1505"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">During the raid, officials recovered around 22 kg of illegally manufactured psychotropic substances. The seizure included approximately 5 kg of Alprazolam and nearly 17 kg of a mixture of sedatives identified as Prazepam and Temazepam, which authorities said are more potent than Alprazolam.</span></p>
<p data-start="1507" data-end="1730"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Precursor chemicals used in the production of Alprazolam, along with semi-processed and intermediate substances, were also found, indicating that multiple stages of drug manufacturing were being carried out at the facility.</span></p>
<p data-start="1732" data-end="1928"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Machinery, raw materials, and equipment allegedly used for the illegal operation were seized. The recovered substances have been sent for forensic analysis to confirm their composition and purity.</span></p>
<p data-start="1930" data-end="2139"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">&ldquo;During the raid, a narcotic drug manufacturing unit was detected and approximately 22 kg of illegally manufactured psychotropic substances were seized from the factory,&rdquo; the ATS said in an official statement.</span></p>
<h4 data-start="2141" data-end="2191"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Accused arrested, supply chain under scrutiny</span></h4>
<p data-start="2193" data-end="2426"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Three persons have been arrested in connection with the case. They have been identified as Anshul Shastri (40), a resident of Agra in Uttar Pradesh, and Akhilesh Kumar Maurya (41) and Krishnakumar Yadav (33), both linked to Tapukara.</span></p>
<p data-start="2428" data-end="2580"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Additionally, three labourers working at the unit were detained for questioning to determine their role and level of involvement in the alleged offence.</span></p>
<p data-start="2582" data-end="3015"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Preliminary investigation revealed that Shastri allegedly operated a firm named Ansh Trading, through which raw materials required for manufacturing Alprazolam were procured and supplied with the assistance of Maurya. Investigators believe Yadav was involved for his technical expertise in the manufacturing process. Officials further stated that the finished drugs were allegedly supplied to an individual identified as Sunny Yadav.<br><br></span><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">A case has been filed at the Bhiwadi Phase-3 police station under Sections 8 and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The arrested accused are likely to be produced before the appropriate court.</span></p>
