Self-styled godman Chaitanyananda Saraswati has been booked in multiple cases, including charges of sexually harassing 19 women and misappropriating funds worth ₹20 crore. 
The Delhi Police informed a court on Friday that Chaitanyananda falsely claimed to be part of a national advisory council and even used photoshopped pictures with politicians to boost his image.
The court dismissed his anticipatory bail plea in a forgery case linked to alleged financial irregularities at a South Delhi institute, where he had served as chancellor.
According to investigators, more than 18 bank accounts and 28 fixed deposits linked to a trust established by Chaitanyananda, holding around ₹8 crore, have been frozen.
Last month, Chaitanyananda was also booked in a separate case for allegedly sexually harassing 19 women at the Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management (SRIISM) in Vasant Kunj. 
The institute, where he served as chancellor, is run by the Sri Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham.
