Security forces dealt a major blow to Maoist insurgents in Jharkhand, eliminating four senior leaders in two back-to-back encounters across Hazaribagh and Palamu districts.
On Monday morning, three Maoist leaders were killed in an operation at Karandi village under Tatijharia police station in Hazaribagh, following specific intelligence inputs. 
The slain rebels were identified as Sahdev Soren alias Parvesh, a CPI (Maoist) Central Committee Member with a bounty of ₹1 crore; Raghunath Hembram alias Chanchal, a Bihar-Jharkhand Special Area Committee member carrying a reward of ₹25 lakh; and Birsen Ganjhu alias Ramkhelawan, a Zonal Committee member with a ₹10 lakh bounty.
This followed Sunday&rsquo;s encounter in Palamu district, where security forces gunned down Mukhdev Yadav alias Toofan ji, a self-styled sub-zonal commander of the banned Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC). 
The 40-year-old, who carried a reward of ₹5 lakh, was wanted in 27 criminal cases and accused of killing two security personnel on September 4. 
His body was recovered along with an INSAS rifle, a pistol, and 146 live cartridges.
Police said the Palamu encounter took place in forests between Manatu and Tarhasi during an operation to track another TSPC zonal commander with a ₹10 lakh bounty.
Officials described the twin operations as a major success against Left-Wing Extremism in Jharkhand, significantly weakening both CPI (Maoist) and TSPC leadership structures.
