A chilling murder case from Delhi&rsquo;s Timarpur has revealed how a forensic science student allegedly killed her live-in partner with the help of her ex-boyfriend, using ghee and alcohol to fake a fire scene.
The murder took place on October 6, when police received a call about a fire at a fourth-floor flat in Gandhi Vihar. After extinguishing the blaze, they discovered a charred body, initially suspecting it to be an accident. However, suspicions arose after CCTV footage showed two people entering the building before the fire and one woman leaving just before it erupted.
Investigators identified the woman as a 21-year-old forensic science student from Moradabad, who had been living with the victim, a 32-year-old UPSC aspirant, since May 2024. The probe uncovered that the relationship had soured after she discovered obscene videos of herself and other women on his device.
Enraged, she contacted her ex-boyfriend, an LPG distributor from Moradabad, and together with an associate, they plotted the murder. Using her knowledge of crime scene manipulation and his expertise with gas cylinders, the trio strangled the victim, poured ghee and alcohol over his body, and staged the fire to destroy evidence.
The gas cylinder&rsquo;s regulator was tampered with to make it appear as an accidental blast. An hour later, the cylinder exploded, completely burning the victim&rsquo;s body.
During the investigation, police recovered a hard disk containing videos of over 15 women, a trolley bag, a shirt, and two mobile phones. The woman was arrested on October 18, her ex-boyfriend on October 21, and their associate on October 23.
The case continues to shock Delhi, exposing a disturbing mix of revenge, crime-show influence, and forensic knowledge used for destruction.
