A 25-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped, brutally assaulted and thrown out of a moving vehicle on the Gurugram&ndash;Faridabad Road earlier this week. The survivor is currently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital, where she is undergoing treatment for multiple fractures and severe injuries.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday on a sparsely populated stretch of the Gurugram&ndash;Faridabad road. Police officials confirmed that the woman&rsquo;s condition remains critical and she is not yet in a position to record her statement. Two accused, one from Uttar Pradesh and the other from Madhya Pradesh, have been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
According to preliminary findings, the survivor, a mother of three, had been staying with her parents following marital issues. On the night of the incident, she reportedly left a friend&rsquo;s house around midnight and waited for transport near Metro Chowk. Due to the lack of public transport, she accepted a lift offered by two men travelling in a white Eeco van.
Investigators said the accused allegedly drove her to an isolated area on the Gurugram&ndash;Faridabad road, where she was sexually assaulted for several hours. The woman was later driven towards Faridabad and thrown out of the moving vehicle near Raja Chowk between 3 am and 4 am, sustaining serious injuries.
Due to low traffic caused by foggy and cold conditions, her cries for help reportedly went unheard. Despite severe bleeding, she managed to contact her sister, who reached the spot and took her to a hospital. She was later shifted to a private facility for advanced treatment.
Doctors have confirmed that the survivor suffered multiple fractures, including injuries to the eye socket and shoulder, along with deep facial wounds requiring stitches. Police officials said several injuries were sustained while she resisted the assault and when she was thrown from the vehicle.
The crime branch has recovered the vehicle used in the incident and collected forensic evidence from the van, the survivor and the accused. Blood samples of the suspects have also been taken to determine whether intoxication played a role. A test identification parade will be conducted once the survivor is medically fit.
A case has been registered at Kotwali police station based on the complaint filed by the survivor&rsquo;s sister. Police believe the accused exploited poor visibility and the deserted stretch of road to carry out the crime. Further investigation is ongoing.
