A 17-year-old girl was shot by a man in Faridabad on Monday after he allegedly stalked her for several days. 
The incident occurred outside a private library in the city that both the victim and the accused regularly attended for study sessions. 
The entire act was captured on CCTV footage.
According to police, the suspect had been aware of the girl&rsquo;s daily routine and was waiting near the library before she arrived. 
The footage shows the man standing in the vicinity moments before the attack.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused had been monitoring the girl&rsquo;s movements and knew the route she typically took to and from the library.
The girl, who is currently undergoing medical treatment, identified the assailant and told the police, "I know the boy, he had been troubling me for a long time."
After firing at the girl, the accused allegedly discarded the weapon at the scene. 
Police later recovered a homemade pistol from the spot.
A police spokesperson confirmed that multiple teams have been deployed to trace and apprehend the suspect. 
An investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the attack and verify claims of previous harassment.
