<p data-start="108" data-end="369"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">A shocking case of impersonation and fraud has come to light in Delhi&rsquo;s Wazirabad, where a 22-year-old woman tutor and her two accomplices posed as CBI officers to loot cash and jewellery from a relative&rsquo;s home. The trio was arrested by Delhi Police on July 18.</span></p>
<p data-start="371" data-end="734"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The woman, a resident of Karawal Nagar, along with Keshav Prasad (28) and Vivek Singh (20), targeted the house of her distant relative, Israt Jameel, on July 10 around 7:30 p.m. They introduced themselves as "CBI officials from the Okhla branch" and claimed to have a search warrant. All three were dressed in white shirts and black trousers to appear convincing.</span></p>
<p data-start="736" data-end="1008"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">According to police officials, the fraudsters intimidated the family, ordering them to sit in one corner of the room while they "searched" the house. They broke open an almirah and took away gold and silver jewellery belonging to Jameel&rsquo;s wife, along with ₹3 lakh in cash.</span></p>
<p data-start="1010" data-end="1228"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">When the family asked for official documents such as a search warrant or seizure memo, the imposters wrote a fake note and signed it in false names on a notebook belonging to Jameel&rsquo;s daughter before fleeing the scene.</span></p>
<p data-start="1230" data-end="1350"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Jameel later grew suspicious and contacted the police. By the time authorities arrived, the accused had already escaped.</span></p>
<p data-start="1352" data-end="1693"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Following an investigation, two of the accused - the woman and Keshav were traced and arrested from Mussoorie. Based on their leads, Vivek was apprehended from Haridwar. During interrogation, they confessed to having changed locations frequently to avoid being caught and admitted to spending part of the stolen money on personal luxuries.</span></p>
<p data-start="1695" data-end="1829"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Police have recovered ₹1.75 lakh, 29 gold and silver ornaments, a motorcycle used in the crime, and the outfits worn during the raid.</span></p>
<p data-start="1831" data-end="2047"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Investigators revealed that Keshav Prasad runs a food supplement store in Haridwar, Vivek Singh is unemployed and enrolled in an open school, while the woman is a graduate who provides private tuition in north Delhi.</span></p>
