A former senior manager at Advantmed India LLP, located in Infocity Tower One, Gandhinagar, has been accused of siphoning off Rs 3.75 crore by generating hundreds of forged invoices over a five-year period.
The complaint was filed by Girish Goplani, senior director in the company&rsquo;s HR department, after discrepancies were discovered in February 2025. The firm, which handles medical records for American health plan companies, typically makes online payments via credit card to hospitals and medical officers for their services.
Suspicion arose when the payment team contacted medical officer Amanda Lee Jones in February this year to confirm a bill allegedly raised by her. Jones clarified, &ldquo;I had never issued any invoice, and I provided all information free of cost.&rdquo;
Following this, the company conducted a detailed audit of transactions through PayPal and Stripe from December 4, 2020, to February 11, 2025. Officials found 241 fabricated invoices submitted under fictitious company names, several of which were linked to email addresses containing the accused&rsquo;s name, Hadak Patel.
Bank statements revealed that large sums were diverted into Patel&rsquo;s account and that of his relative, Parul Patel. Police said, &ldquo;We are currently investigating the money trail and scrutinising the bank accounts,&rdquo; as the case moves forward.
