The government-run Bhagwandas Khetan (BDK) Hospital in Rajasthan&rsquo;s Jhunjhunu&nbsp;district&nbsp;is at the centre of a shocking case of alleged medical negligence. A woman, admitted to deliver twins, was reportedly thrown out midway through the operation.
Even more startling: The hospital&rsquo;s Principal Medical Officer Dr&nbsp;Rajveer&nbsp;Rao&mdash;who initially denied the allegations&mdash;is now reportedly &ldquo;heading the investigation&rdquo;&nbsp;into the incident.
The story unfolded late at night when Anita, a resident of Moti Singh Ki Dhani, was brought to BDK Hospital experiencing labour pains. The doctors delivered one child&nbsp;and then, instead of completing the delivery, they refused to deliver the second baby, citing danger to the mother&rsquo;s life. They allegedly told the family to take Anita elsewhere.
Panicked, her family rushed her to a private hospital in a car. Tragically, the second child was delivered stillborn. The family alleges that negligence at BDK Hospital caused the death. In a further shocking claim, they accused the doctors of stuffing cotton into Anita&rsquo;s uterus to hide their misconduct.
The incident has sparked outrage. The District Collector has ordered a formal investigation. While the family has filed a police complaint against the doctors and staff, the&nbsp;Kotwali police are waiting for the hospital&rsquo;s investigation report before taking further action.
Notably, the same&nbsp;PMO, Dr Rao, who flatly dismissed the allegations earlier, has now appointed a three-member team to investigate the issue.
This case raises questions about medical ethics, accountability, and systemic negligence in government hospitals. For Anita&rsquo;s family, however, the questions remain: Why was she abandoned mid-delivery, and could their second child have been saved?
