Two people, including a driver associated with the emergency Dial 112 service, have been arrested in Chhattisgarh&rsquo;s Korba district over the alleged gangrape of a 19-year-old woman, police said on Saturday. Authorities are working to locate the remaining three suspects involved in the case.&nbsp;
The incident occurred late Thursday under the Bankimongra police station limits when the victim was reportedly summoned by the main accused, a Dial 112 driver, to a deserted residential quarter in Banki. Along with four others, he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
After the alleged assault, the accused fled the scene, leaving the victim unconscious. She later reached her home and informed her family, who took her to a medical college hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment. Hospital authorities alerted the police, leading to the formation of a special team to trace the suspects.
Police conducted multiple raids and detained two of the five accused, including the Dial 112 driver. Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari confirmed that the main suspect and another individual are being questioned, and efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects.&nbsp;
A case has been registered, and the investigation continues as police pursue leads to bring all the accused to justice.
