In a significant operation against narcotics trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Squad (ANS) of South-East Delhi Police arrested two foreign nationals linked to an international drug syndicate in Govindpuri.
The arrested individuals have been identified as 39-year-old Bernadin from Ivory Coast and 33-year-old Ezekile from Nigeria. Both were found to be illegally overstaying in India and unemployed, reportedly turning to drug peddling as a means of survival.
Police seized 61.16 grams of MDMA and 36.64 grams of cocaine during the raid with an estimated market value of ₹10 lakh. Acting on a tip-off received by Head Constable Dharmender, the ANS team, led by Inspector Vishnu Dutt Tiwari and under the supervision of ACP Dalip Singh, conducted the raid on July 31 in Gali No. 13, Govindpuri.
Sub-Inspectors Ajeet and Yashpal, along with other team members, recovered eight mobile phones, a digital weighing scale, drug packaging materials, and ₹10,600 in cash from the accused. The operation led to the registration of FIR No. 427/25 at PS Govindpuri under the NDPS Act and the Foreigners Act.
Initial interrogation suggests that the accused were operating independently and selling narcotics locally. Although they had no prior criminal history, their visa overstay has raised red flags about the broader issue of undocumented foreign nationals involved in illicit activities.
Police are now investigating further to trace the larger drug supply chain. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to cracking down on narcotics networks and have appealed to the public to report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods.
