<p data-start="219" data-end="452"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has dismantled an interstate drug syndicate, arresting five individuals and seizing a total of 313 kilograms of cannabis (ganja).</span></p>
<p data-start="454" data-end="734"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The operation began with a tip-off that led to the arrest of two suspects, Mukesh and Rajesh, who were caught transporting 288 kg of ganja hidden in a specially designed cavity of a truck. Following their interrogation, investigators traced the source of the contraband to Odisha.</span></p>
<p data-start="736" data-end="994"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">On June 29, the supplier, identified as Bhari Mal Nayak (alias Nayak), was apprehended from his native Gajapati district in Odisha. Further leads helped police arrest the middleman and transporter, Yashvir Dahiya (alias Satbir), from Haridwar in Uttarakhand.</span></p>
<p data-start="996" data-end="1262"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The investigation eventually led to the arrest of Sunil Nagar (alias Gullu), the intended receiver of the drugs, from Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. During a raid at Nagar&rsquo;s flat, police recovered an additional 25 kilograms of ganja packed in five separate packets.</span></p>
<p data-start="1264" data-end="1505"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">With operations spanning Odisha, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi, the bust marks a significant breakthrough in dismantling one of the region&rsquo;s major drug supply chains. Authorities said the network used Delhi as a key distribution hub.</span></p>
<p data-start="1507" data-end="1619"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Police officials confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify other links and operatives in the cartel.</span></p>
<p data-start="1621" data-end="1878"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">This operation follows a string of successful anti-narcotics actions by Delhi Police. Just last month, on June 26, under the &lsquo;Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakhwada&rsquo; campaign, the department destroyed over 1,629 kg of seized narcotics, valued at more than ₹3,274 crore.</span></p>
<p data-start="1880" data-end="2041"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">In a separate case, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch seized 348 kg of drugs being smuggled from Andhra Pradesh into the Delhi-NCR region.</span></p>
