In a distressing incident near Samaypur Badli in outer Delhi, police have arrested two individuals in connection with the gang rape of a 13-year-old girl. The suspects have been identified as Narottam, a 28-year-old barber from Raja Vihar who was known to the victim's family, and Rishabh Jha, a 26-year-old private bank employee residing in the Badli JJ camp.
Details of the Incident
The assault reportedly occurred on Saturday. Investigators state that the two men brought the minor to Narottam&rsquo;s residence, where she was forced to consume alcohol before being sexually assaulted.
The matter came to light after the girl's family contacted the police to report that she had been coerced into drinking. Further investigation and a detailed statement from the victim later revealed the full extent of the physical assault.
Legal Action and SIT Formation
Following a medical examination, the police registered a case on Sunday under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for gang rape and the POCSO Act for aggravated penetrative sexual assault. Both suspects were apprehended the same day.
To ensure a thorough and swift legal process, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer-North) Hareshwar Swami has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The team is tasked with completing the investigation and filing a chargesheet promptly to ensure a strong trial.
Separate Incident in Sultanpuri
In a separate legal development, an 18-year-old woman in Sultanpuri has filed a complaint against a 21-year-old man. She alleges that the individual raped her multiple times over a three-year period under the false pretext of marriage.
