A shocking case of systemic abuse has surfaced in Delhi, where Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Dr. Parthasarathy, has been accused of sexually harassing at least 17 women students at the Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management in Vasant Kunj.
According to the FIR, the 62-year-old self-styled godman used his position as the institute&rsquo;s chairman to target female students, most from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) studying on scholarships. The complaint was triggered by a letter from a former student and an email from an Indian Air Force officer, both flagging harassment complaints.
Investigators uncovered a disturbing pattern of exploitation. Hidden cameras were allegedly installed in women&rsquo;s hostels under the guise of security. Victims said they were called to his room late at night, sent obscene WhatsApp messages, threatened with suspension, and coerced into foreign trips under the pretext of mentorship. In one case, a student was forced to change her name.
The FIR also names three women staff members, including the associate dean, for aiding the accused by pressuring students to remain silent. Statements of 32 students were recorded, with 17 confirming sexual harassment.
In a parallel case, police seized a Volvo car with a fake diplomatic license plate (39 UN 1) from the institute&rsquo;s basement, linking Saraswati to fraud. The Sri Sharada Peetham in Sringeri has distanced itself from him, calling his actions &ldquo;illegal and inappropriate.&rdquo;
Despite facing similar complaints in 2009 and 2016, Saraswati evaded arrest. Delhi Police have now launched a manhunt as cases of sexual harassment, criminal intimidation, and fraud pile up against him.
