In a shocking revelation, Delhi Police have uncovered that the recent acid attack on a 20-year-old Delhi University student was staged by the woman herself and her father to frame their rival, Jitender.
According to investigators, the student&rsquo;s father, Akil Khan, confessed to orchestrating the fake attack to take revenge on Jitender, who was set to face a rape complaint filed by his wife. 
Police said the fabricated incident was an attempt to falsely implicate Jitender and his associates, Ishan and Arman, in a serious crime.
The case took a major turn when Akil was arrested on Monday after Jitender&rsquo;s wife accused him of rape and blackmail. 
She alleged that Akil coerced her into sexual relations, shared obscene photos with her husband, and harassed her for years while she worked at his factory. 
Following her complaint, an FIR was registered against Akil.
To escape the rape charges and retaliate against Jitender, Akil and his daughter reportedly staged the acid attack. 
Police revealed that the woman had purchased toilet-cleaning acid herself and, with her father&rsquo;s help, pretended to be attacked near Lakshmibai College in Ashok Vihar on Sunday.
Initially, the police were told that Jitender and his aides had attacked the woman on a motorcycle. 
The student claimed that Arman had thrown acid at her after taking a bottle from Ishan, causing burns on her hands. 
CCTV footage also appeared to show Jitender on a motorbike in Karol Bagh earlier that morning, and the bike was later recovered.
However, the investigation completely changed course after Akil&rsquo;s confession. 
He admitted to plotting the false acid attack to avenge the rape case filed by Jitender&rsquo;s wife, who had accused him of sexual harassment between 2021 and 2024.
Police also confirmed that Jitender&rsquo;s wife had lodged a PCR complaint on October 24, just two days before the alleged acid attack, accusing Akil of harassment, blackmail, and sexual assault.
Meanwhile, Ishan and Arman, Jitender&rsquo;s associates, are currently in Agra with their mother, Shabnam, and are expected to join the investigation soon.&nbsp;
Shabnam, herself a survivor of a 2018 acid attack, told police that her attackers were relatives of Akil Khan.&nbsp;
She also alleged that Akil was involved in a long-running property dispute with her family over a Mangolpuri plot currently under trial.
Police have booked Akil for rape and criminal conspiracy, while further investigations are underway to determine the extent of his daughter&rsquo;s involvement in the staged acid attack.
